On October 10th, the Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel hosted a remarkable event jointly organized by ASIS International Malaysia Chapter and Axis Communications. The Axis Technology Day brought together industry leaders, security professionals, and technology innovators to explore the theme, “Defending Your Data from Perimeter to Core.”
The day was filled with insightful presentations, discussions, and cutting-edge solutions, all focused on enhancing data center security through a multi-layered approach. Participants had the unique opportunity to delve into advanced technologies ranging from video and audio surveillance to the latest in network micro-segmentation. The event underscored the importance of adopting comprehensive security measures, from physical perimeters to the very heart of data infrastructures.
Carl Malmqvist, Regional Director, South Asia Pacific, Axis Communications and Victor Lim, Chairman, ASIS International Malaysia Chapter kicked off the day with a warm and inspiring welcome, setting the stage for an impactful event.

Tengku Zamir (Vantage Data Center), as a data center security manager, in his presentation explored the often-overlooked human elements in data security, highlighting the need for awareness and vigilance.
A standout session of the day was the panel discussion expertly moderated by Monica Tomar, where experts shared their perspectives on the future trends of data center security and the upcoming treats and challenges. Before we ended the program for the day, Muhamad Khairul did an excellent showcase of the various solutions from Axis Communications that were displayed in the back of the room, showcasing some of the latest technologies available in the market.
