The ASIS International Malaysia Chapter 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on the 8th of January 2025, marking yet another milestone in the chapter's history. This year’s AGM witnessed record-breaking attendance, with almost every chapter member participating either in person or virtually via a hybrid setup. The overwhelming turnout was a testament to the commitment and enthusiasm of our members.
This year, as a gesture of appreciation for the unwavering support of our members, we organized individual professional headshots for attendees for use in their respective LinkedIn profiles or resumes. This initiative was well-received, adding a personal touch to the event and providing a valuable token for our members. While the headshots were taken, the members took the opportunity to connect and participate in valuable discussions, while enjoying the refreshments served.
The AGM officially commenced with a welcoming address from our chairman Victor Lim, who expressing gratitude to members for their active involvement and participation in the chapter. The importance of these gatherings as a platform to strengthen the community was highlighted and he emphasized that the collaboration with various parties will continue in the next couple of years.
During the session, the management committee presented an overview of the achievements and activities from the previous year. These included the successful execution of various programs, the growth in chapter membership, and efforts to foster a robust network among security professionals. Key events organized in 2024 included an International Women’s Day sharing session, a joint chapter meeting with OSAC Malaysia, career talks, field visits, and technology conferences with Axis, among others. These accomplishments underscored the chapter’s ongoing commitment to professional development and collaboration within the security industry.
As this year was an election year, members elected the new management committee for the 2025-2026 term. The elections proceeded smoothly, reflecting the chapter's dedication to transparency and inclusivity. The newly elected committee for the 2025-2026 term will be:

During the AGM, Victor as the outgoing chair also gifted the outgoing committee members certificates of appreciation for the hard work done in the last two years. With that, the AGM concluded with an appreciation dinner which provided an excellent opportunity for members to network, share experiences, and celebrate the achievements of the chapter. The 2024 AGM was a resounding success, underscoring the strength and unity of the ASIS International Malaysia Chapter. We thank all members who joined us, both physically and virtually, and look forward to another productive year ahead.
